More than 500 athletes expected at the European Karate Santarém
In round numbers, are expected around 550 athletes to compete in the 3rd European Karate Championships in WUKF seniors and veterans, to be held in the municipal flag of Santarem between 7 and April 11.
According to data supplied by the organization at the press conference to launch the championship, held on Friday at House of Brazil, there are already about 470 karateka with confirmed presence, coming from 22 European countries.
The latter, still join their coaches, trainers, members of the party and 50 to 70 referees and table officials at an event already sold out completely the hotel capacity in the region.
"It is with pride that we bring to the city's biggest event of karate at the level of Europe", said Carlos Dias, president of the District of Santarém - Amicale Karate (ADS-AK), which organizes this event in partnership with World Union of Karate-do Federations (WUKF) and the Scalabisport.
