The people of Funchal, the capital of Madeira on Saturday severely punished by a storm, are bleak in the face of tragedy that left 42 dead and are afraid of appearing other bodies.
Many people lost family and friends lost their homes and possessions. It is a difficult time living in times of crisis and unemployment in Portugal recently, mine had two hurricanes, an earthquake and now this serious incident on the island of Madeira.
Funchal is the main city of the Atlantic archipelago, one of the destinations preferred by the international beach tourism, presents a bleak situation and there are few passers-by walking through its narrow streets, many of them muddy and full of stones.
